Bluetooth discussion
This is our bluetooth disscussion page. Bluetooth connection to the robot has proven to be problematic. The below are some of the steps we have taken to counter this issue.
1. We have created a cellphone Bluetooth turn-off request sign.
2. We have written a letter template available for all FTC teams, asking FIRST-Pitsco partership to consider our request to switch to wi-fi connection, or improve the Bluetooth to make it more robust. You can download this letter template by clicking the download on the left.
We have noticed throughout the FTC season and at our competition that Bluetooth often has connection issues, which appears to be at least partly due to bluetooth enabled cell-phone interference.
After our competition experienced several bluetooth problems resulting in a lost connectiion and a lost match for several teams. After our competion, we created this sign for the upcoming second regional tournament. During this competition, no bluetooth errors were experienced, and our sign likely contributed to this error-free competition.
We are working with Cathy Swider, Project Administrator of Industry Affairs, Oregon University System, to also provide the signs for the Oregon FTC State Championship tournament.
